Engaging Vitality

Osteopathic Techniques and Chinese Medicine

A palpation-based approach to you and your health

Experience the difference

Engaging Vitality is an approach to acupuncture that is based on palpation. We rely on the patient's body to inform the treatment.

Using palpation techniques applied in Osteopathic medicine (such as Cranial Sacral Therapy), the practitioner is guided by the fluid rhythms of the body.

Efficacy in acupuncture is grounded in a therapeutic engagement with qi. Doing this well requires not only carefully listening to patients with our ears, but also with our hands

How is Engaging Vitality Different?

These treatments are better informed, use fewer needles, can be extremely gentle and still very profound.

By listening to the various forms of information in the body (pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, abdominal palpation, yang rhythm/primary respiration, manual thermal exam, general listening, local listening, channel listening, yin fluid rhythm, etc) a practitioner can adapt the treatment to exactly what the patient's body needs that day: finding areas that are blocked and working with the channels that are available and therapeutic.

This approach to acupuncture can address all aspects of the human experience: body, mind, and spirit.
